world-class research
Borregaard is strongly committed to research and innovation. With an innovation rate of 16 per cent, we have one of Norway’s largest and most dynamic industrial research environments. To maintain our focus on innovation, our researchers work closely with both the market team and customers to develop new solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. This close collaboration ensures that we identify opportunities to create valuable, sustainable products that can compete with less environmentally friendly alternatives.
As a researcher at Borregaard, you will take on a range of exciting and varied tasks – whether in the lab or in the field with our partners. A key part of the job is testing products in different applications, working alongside customers or research institutions. The goal is to assess how our products perform compared to conventional alternatives and how they can be optimised to meet customer needs.
In addition to application testing, our researchers focus on improving and optimising processes at our production facilities. This involves analysing data from our factories and testing various production conditions on a large scale to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. The combination of theoretical lab work and practical large-scale testing provides a comprehensive understanding of the entire process from start to finish.
Borregaard also offers a wide range of advanced equipment, giving our researchers access to some of the best analytical tools available. We use instruments such as NMR, LC-MS, GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, XRF, and ICP to analyse and enhance the products we develop. This allows us to gain deep insights into our products and refine them further. At the same time, we continuously work on developing new analytical methods to stay ahead of industry advancements.
