External lab trial: Sustainable binders for refractories
Test results from external institutes show that our lignin-based biopolymers perform well as temporary binders for magnesia refractories.
Lignosulfonate based biopolymers are typically used as binders in the refractory industry, but not all lignosulfonates have the same performance. Choosing the right additive is key to optimising your production.
We have carried out tests at external institutes where we use different types of temporary binders to produce magnesia refractory bricks.
Results of both modulus of rupture (MOR) and cold crushing strength (CCS) in green and dry bricks show that our products outperform sugar-based additives like dextrins, molasses and other available lignosulfonate based products.
