Bioethanol
Borregaard provides advanced bioethanol that helps customers reduce their carbon footprint. Our high purity bioethanol is suitable for many applications and purposes.
Low emission ethanol
Borregaard produces approximately 20 million litres bioethanol annually. As a by-product of our cellulose production, our ethanol has a consistent impurity profile. Greenhouse gas emissions linked to our wood-based alternative are approximately 10% compared to synthetic ethanol, making it a highly sustainable alternative helping customers reduce their carbon footprint.
ISCC certified
Borregaard is one out of few producers able to provide fermented bioethanol that has no GMO basis, and no use of antibiotics. We are ISCC certified (EN15376) for the biofuels market. For technical applications, our certifications and statements include Kosher, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 15001.
