Borregaard is the only vanillin supplier producing vanillin from wood. Our natural and renewable raw material, Norway Spruce, is PEFC certified. This means that the vanillin produced by Borregaard is sustainable and the only PEFC certified vanillin on the market
Building on six decades of experience we have developed a wide range of specially adapted varieties of vanillin for different applications:
Borregaard has produced plant-based vanillin since 1962, sourced from sustainably managed forests. Our plant-based vanillin is based on 100% renewable carbon. It provides a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to guaiacol vanillin synthesised from crude oil.
