Biocontrol agents
Borregaard offer bio-based dispersants, rheology modifiers, UV-protectors and binders as sustainable co-formulants for biocontrol.
Microbial co-formulants compatible with biological actives
Formulate with lignin based dispersants and binders
We have been developing sustainable ingredients for crop protection and biocontrol for more than 50 years. Our co-formulants for biological control products contribute to superior dispersibility, suspensibility, wettability and blooming. In addition to improving stability and shelf-life, they help keep formulation properties when mixed with hard water, adjuvants or fertilizers and reduce the risk of residues blocking nozzles during spraying.
Improve anti-settling, structure and rheology
Our microfibrillar cellulose, Exilva®, is an electrolyte tolerant rheology modifier providing anti-settling and stability to water and solvent-based formulations. It is microbiologically stable and performs in a wide pH range.
Boost your UV protection
Our unique lignin-based dispersant, Activance® UV provides additional UV protection for light-sensitive components. It helps protect active ingredients and maintain good properties for liquid and dry formulations. Activance UV has shown no harm to biologicals. In parallel, its efficient UV absorbance can improve the UV protection of the actives leading to longer shelf-life.
Performance data
Activance uv performance in biocontrol formulations
Laboratory demonstrations showcase the benefits of using activance uv as a binder, dispersant and uv protectant in dry biopesticide formulations.
Exilva temperature stability
Laboratory studies demonstrate that exilva is stable and robust when used as a rheology modifier or stabiliser over a wide temperature range.
Exilva ph compatibility
Laboratory studies demonstrate that exilva is compatible and robust when used as a rheology modifier or stabiliser in acidic and alkaline environments.
Exilva salt compatibility
Laboratory studies demonstrate that exilva is compatible and robust when used as a rheology modifier or stabiliser in high salt content systems.
